Hello Friends! I am so excited to announce that I am releasing a four song EP this summer! So many people have been asking me to record an album for a long time and it is finally happening! I have spent the last few months recording at All in Time Recording Studios in Lexington, KY with producer Dusty Morris and Bo Warren, musician. Thank you to all you choir members (you know who you are) who helped me with my single You Make Things Beautiful. It was so much fun to be crowded around the mic singing praises to God. I am so excited to share the songs with you and I will have a release date soon!!
Recording has always been a dream of mine and I have spent time in the studio recording for other projects but never for my own. I have learned a lot through the process. It has been so encouraging to see my songs go from lyrics on a page with simple piano accompaniment to a full band with background singers and everything!
I plan on having a release concert once all the songs are mixed and finalized so stay in tune for the concert date. My plan is to go back to the studio this fall and record a full length album. I have so many songs that I want to share but I can only do it with your help. I have decided to fund my project through kickstarter.com and will soon have the project available online for people to donate.
I am titling the full length album Beautiful Awakening. The album is a personal look into my spiritual journey. The single, "You Make Things Beautiful" opens with the lyric, "You make things beautiful in their time and eternity is planted in this heart of mine" taken from Ecclesiastes 3:11. Jesus Christ is coming back to take his people home to heaven and he will one day make all things beautiful. What a wonderful thought, no more pain, no more war, no more suffering! As Christians we must hold on to this truth that what we see on earth is temporary. The song "Awakening" is a call to the church to "rise up and proclaim what the Lord has done". We must live our lives with a sense of urgency and when we let go of this world and die to ourselves, then Christ creates something beautiful in us!
